FAQ

Q1: What can this machine do?
A:
This is a digital screen plate making machine designed specifically for education, DIY, and small studios. It can directly transfer patterns from a computer to a pre made screen through USB, without the need for traditional photosensitive glue exposure processes. It can complete A4 format plate making in 3 minutes and is suitable for low-cost and fast prototyping of T-shirt printing, handmade greeting cards, cultural and creative peripherals, etc.

Q2: What are the advantages compared to traditional photosensitive plate making?
A:
No exposure/no rinsing: direct digital plate making, no darkroom, no chemical agents.
Low cost: Prefabricated wire mesh can be repeatedly cleaned and used (requires a dedicated cleaning solution).
Fast speed: Standard A4 length patterns only take 3 minutes, suitable for classroom/small batch orders.

Q3: What are the supported wire mesh specifications?
A: Standard configuration includes two types of prefabricated wire mesh: 120 mesh (suitable for water-based/rough fabrics) and 250 mesh (suitable for fine lines/solvent inks). Other mesh sizes and dimensions can be expanded in the future (customized wooden frame size is required).

Q4: What are the plate making accuracy and format?
A:
Size: A4 (210 × 297mm), non expandable.
Resolution: 203 × 203 DPI (suitable for lines/text above 0.1mm).
Minimum line width: It is recommended to be ≥ 0.15mm (measured with 250 mesh wire mesh).

Q5: Power requirements?
A: Global universal voltage, factory standard 220V/110V switching plug, no transformer required, plug and play for classroom/home sockets.

Q6: What computer systems are supported?
A: Currently, only Windows 7/10/11 drivers (32/64 bit) are available. Mac/Linux requires a virtual machine or waiting for further updates (please follow the official website announcement).

Q7: Do I have to use a USB cable? Can it be transmitted wirelessly?
A: The current version only supports USB 2.0 wired connections (ensuring stable transmission), and wireless functionality is in the development plan.

Q8: Which users are suitable?
A:
Education: Art classes in primary and secondary schools, printing training in vocational schools (without chemical pollution).
DIY: Handmade clubs, parent-child activities (with accompanying safe ink).
Small studio: Personalized orders for samples ≤ 200 pieces (such as canvas bags, couple T-shirts).

Q9: Can third-party wire mesh be used?
A: Customized wooden wire mesh frames (with adhesive tape pressing grooves) must be used, and third-party aluminum frames/slotless wooden frames cannot be fixed. Empty frames can be purchased separately (contact customer service to confirm size).

Q10: How to clean the screen after plate making?
A:
Water based ink: Rinse gently with water and a soft bristled brush, then dry in the shade.
Solvent/plastic ink: Use specialized cleaning agents (available on the official website) to avoid direct sunlight/high-pressure water guns.
Lifespan: Under normal cleaning, a single wire mesh can be repeatedly cleaned and used 20-30 times (view complexity).

Q11: Does the machine need calibration?
A: No calibration is required. Before the first use, the user needs to correctly set the frame size and printing format in the supporting driver program and third-party software's printing support function. Once set, there is no need to repeat the setting if there are no changes in the future.

Q12: Warranty policy?
A: The whole machine comes with a 1-year warranty (excluding consumables such as nozzles/screens), and provides a trade in service for old print heads ($249 per use).
Note: Damage to the print head caused by human error requires payment for repair.

Q13: Are there any teaching resources available?
A:
We provide a complete user guide on our official website. If you still have any questions, please feel free to contact our online customer service for guidance on the operation.

Q14: Is there a lot of noise in the classroom?
A: Printing stage ≤ 55 dB, equivalent to a regular laser printer, meets the school's electronic equipment noise standards.

Q15: How is the odor/emissions?
A: No solvent evaporation during the plate making process; If water-based ink is used for subsequent printing and there is no odor throughout the process, it can pass the acceptance of green laboratories in primary and secondary schools.

Q16: Does the device generate heat?
A: After making 10 consecutive plates, the temperature rise of the top shell should be less than 12 ℃, and it can be cooled by sleeping for 5 minutes without the need for an external fan.

Q17: What file formats does the driver support?
A: Can directly read BMP/PNG/JPG; Please export the 600 dpi bitmap of the vector file in software such as CD/AI/PS/World to ensure full lines.

Q18: Can I print halftone dots?
A: The driver has built-in support for automatically generating halftone dots from pure grayscale images. If users do not want to generate halftone dot images using other third-party software, the simplest method is to directly use the original grayscale image and pass it to the driver.

Q19: Can I replace the print head myself?
A: Our print head design has a sufficiently long lifespan and requires minimal replacement under normal usage. Although the print head uses a quick release module, theoretically users can replace it themselves. However, it is still recommended that users return to the factory for repair. Users who replace the print head or other internal components of the device themselves may lose their warranty eligibility.

Q20: What is the overall weight of the machine?
A: Net weight 4.8 kg, shipped in an air box weighing 7 kg; teachers can move it with one hand, and regular desks can be placed.

Q21: Do I need to assemble it after it arrives?
A: Zero assembly, after removal, only requires:
① Insert power supply+USB;
② Install the driver;
③ Tighten the wire mesh and complete the process within 10 minutes.

Q22: What should I do if there are vertical white lines in the plate making process?
A: 99% is caused by surface contamination of the print head by dust or other magazines:
First, perform the "test print" operation ->print the test pattern;
If the wire is still disconnected, perform the "cleaning" function of the device and use non-woven fabric to wipe the surface of the running rubber roller and print head inside the device;
If three consecutive cleaning attempts are ineffective, please contact the after-sales service to confirm the specific issue.

Q23: Are the jagged edges of the pattern obvious?
A:
Confirm that the source file resolution is ≥ 600 dpi;
Check if the wooden frame wire mesh is tightly compressed, as loose wire mesh can cause the mesh surface to shake;
Check the viscosity ratio of printing ink.

Q25:Can it be printed continuously?
A:Suggest printing continuously 5 times and cooling for 10 minutes.

Q26:I use a machine that is not one of your digital screen-making machines.
Can I use your film?

A:If you use a machine with thermal heads, you should be able to use our film. Many of our customers use our film with third-party machines.

Q27:How many times can I use the film?

A:This will depend on your requirements. Please try a sample first. According to our tests, the film can be used to print approximately 1200 times when printing by hand using water-based ink and a soft squeegee, and approximately 800 times when using plastisol ink and semi-automatic equipment. We have received reports that when using solvent ink, the film remained intact after 50 printings and about ten washings.

28:Can I choose the width and length of the film I want?

A:Depending on the product, there are established official regulations that determine width, length, and so on. However, we may be able to accommodate your request, so please do not hesitate to ask.
